Caption Contest: How do you describe this one?

Spins.  The current bane of my life.  I am practicing all over the house.  Yesterday tumbling over an ottoman and ending up sandwiched between it and a chair in my office.  Not pretty.  The good news?  Early attempts led to our favorite video of this journey (so far).  Has provided no end to enjoyment and laughter.  I am not sure how to best describe...ideas?

An Unexpected Change of Direction

We discovered that another couple had claimed (on the day of the first meeting!!!) our basic concept for the dance.  Different song, but unfortunately we were forced to come up with a new concept.  Stephanie broke the news before a rehearsal...for sure, some disappointment I cannot hide.  I loved the song and concept she had come up with for us!!! Fortunately, she found another idea quickly with music that fit most of the choreography - and we were back in business (and better than ever?  Hopefully👌).   The emotional impact of the change surely must explain moments like: I am not going to share our new theme and song (yet!)...you may be able to guess from future posts.  But, Stephanie has again created some really cool stuff (and I haven't seen it all yet).

Kicks, and leaps, and lifts...oh my!

Stephanie begins upping the game...leading to some interesting moments: Can one have dyslexic legs?  I demonstrated on that leap... We then test lifts - some hope here! Back to reality with the kick (Stephanie quickly modified after seeing my ability)  Not quite, but some progress?  No injuries at least 😊

First REAL Rehearsal (June 9, 2023)

After discussing several ideas Stephanie created, we began the real work this week!!!     Stephanie patiently taught some steps and then it was time to give it a try at tempo :  That did NOT go well...yikes!!!!   The best moment was the great joy of hearing Mandy chuckle as she filmed😍.   Things did get better - there is at least hope!

First Rehearsal

Entering the fabulous Waco Arthur Murray Dance studio, our dance home for this endeavor.  Stephanie and her husband Brian own the studio.  A glimpse of our training...will be fun to see (hopefully) the difference in October!
