Meeting the Cast, April 23, 2023

The "stars" (me, for sure not a pro so by default a "star") and their professional dancers met for the first time.  I was chatting before the formal program began the Tates - Bryan and Stephanie - professional dancers and owner's of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Waco.  We wondered together about who our partners were and agreed none of us knew.  Of course, the stars we were given as name tags were colored coded...so Stephanie and I were talking not noticing we were partners.

Final Week Notes

Dancing with the Waco Stars is over...and Stephanie and I were extremely pleased with our performance.  We cannot thank those who supported us and the Family Abuse Center enough!  I hope to provide some more details but as of the Monday before the show we had over $11,000 in votes and ticket sales.  Not enough to win...but that just means FAC won all the more overall.  I think over $120,000 as of Monday totals. I also hope to have video to share of our dance.  Yes, I will share...the goal met:  I am not ashamed (far from it).  Stephanie is a miracle worker. In the meantime, a few final week photos and thoughts. DRESS REHEARSAL:  Sunday was dress rehearsal at the Waco Hippodrome.  We had one run through of the routine.  It went well, but I slept very, very poorly that night running through every mistake in my mind.  Nerves suddenly as the event became very real!!! HAIR (no makeup!) and TIME TO DANCE Thursday we did a short rehearsal ...
